B-U-2-DA-FULL: By Stacey Spencer

A friend once told me that the definition of the word beautiful is ‘Be You To The Full.’ I never really understood it at first. I thought it was just another silly saying or overused hashtag caught on by today’s youngsters. But oh boy was I wrong! Once I adjusted and re-climatised my thinking to what she said, it simply meant ‘BE YOURSELF’ – warts and all. To truly accept yourself for who you are and never being anything less than yourself. It was quite a hard pill to swallow at first as it deals with the core acceptance of self; not in a vain or selfish context, but in a way that means loving yourself as a person. But let’s face it, this can be very challenging at times. One of my most enjoyed Christian ministries is Ransomed Heart Ministries with John and Stasi Eldredge. Whilst relentlessly scrolling through Instagram the other week, I found an inspirational quote from Stasi: “He made you you – on purpose. You are the only you – ever.” It read as water to my ...

You have so much more to live for!

Not feeling accepted by anyone let alone your own family can be one of the reasons why you feel you have nothing left to live for. Your bank statements are always getting high, and you just don't know how to cope any more. Before you know it, your swimming in debt. You cry out for help, but you feel no-one is there, the stress and pressures of life closes in on you, it grows and grows some more to the point where you feel like the best way to end it all is to take your own life, that's it! all debts are gone, no more worry, no more stress and no more pain. Is this true? Is this the way out of a stressful life? NO! There's hope. God promises us that He has come to give us LIFE to the fullest. So let me explain how this all comes together: When reading my introduction, you might have felt depressed or even could relate to a few things I had said. The heart of this blog came from the announcements I tend to frequently hear at the train (metro) station coming into ...

* You are NOT Owned *

I think its about time we are hit with the reality that we are NOT and will never be owned. I say reality because many people these days fill like they are controlled by the media, society, their husbands, wives, children, jobs, friends, family or even emotions and the list goes on. So lets look at what the word OWN truly means: Adjective - "used with a possessive to emphasize that someone or something belongs or relates to the person mentioned" Verb - " Have (something) as one's own; possess .", " To be made a fool of, To confound or prove wrong; embarrassing someone.  Total and undeniable dominance of a person, a group of people or situation". Normally people should only talk about owning something when it comes to materialistic things, such as owning a car, restaurant, pet (dog, cat, fish), bit of land, red bag, blue t-shirt etc because most of the time it is something they have possessed or bought as stated in the definition abov...

"God Hears"

Image
As I was on my lunch break today, I took time to sit down with a homeless gentleman and had a good chat. I loved our conversation because as much as he could physically see he hadn't  much, he still had something, a great sense of humour, a willingness to listen and be prayed for. To me that blessed me beyond my own individual thoughts this day. He mentioned that one thing he wasn't sure about was whether God was really hearing him especially when he prayed. Funny enough I had struggled with the same question too, especially through my testing times. He even challenged me with the question... Do you hear from God? Trying not to sound all spiritual, giving up or religious I gave him my answer. What did this teach me? It showed me that no matter what stage in life we may be in our Christian walk with God or in general, we all still have questions and we all are still looking for answers or as some would like to call it: 'Looking for clarity' a...
