Finally I See

A few months back I wrote a blog titled: Oh You Single Women! In that blog I explained my own experiences of being single and also what I thought being single meant, especially in relation to finding myself. So in this blog, I am taking a similar approach with an extra few bits and bobs here and there to add. So lets call this, part 2 of part 1: Oh You Single Women. I will most likely be putting myself on blast and answering some questions that others may have for me like: 1) I'm I single, 2) In a relationship? 3) Courting 4) Interested in anyone etc. Ha ha ha, so lets see how this goes, but remember its not all about me... Just because your single and everyone around you is either coupling up, married or having kids, it doesn't classify you as an outcast or weirdo and especially not forgotten. I think it is fair to say that each lady is either in or has been in both these categories, if not still in either one today. So let me explain what I mean by the two status: 'Wife' and 'Desperate Wife'. The 'Wife' (W) status : She is a lady that already has the mindset of a wife, she is not married as of yet, but is prepared to be. Everything is in order and she really knows how to take care of others, whilst not forgetting about pampering and taking care of herself.  She graces each day with a better perspective of knowing and believing each day is a going to be good and God's plans for her life is the best to come. She has PATIENCE and is content with where she is and where she is heading. Then you have the 'Desperate Wife' (DW) status:  No she is nowhere near the stereotypical TV sitcom 'Desperate Housewife'  but she is also a lady too, however the word 'desperate' says it all. I know I haven't written a blog for a while, but there has been many things going on at the same time starting from: work, family, friends and just good old life related. But as we all know, time waits for no man, so we got to tackle whatever we got to face and keep on going: So here's today's blog: STOP! What is the first thing that comes to mind when this word is said? To me the word  STOP  can be explained  differently  based on any situation we come across. The Thesaurus defines the word STOP as: Termination, Conclusion, End, Finish. For the above definitions I would like to look at the word STOP in the aspect of: Loneliness, Addictions, Excuses, Pity Parties and Singleness. See the thing is; in all the actions we take in life to compensate for being in a relationship, feeling stronger, bolder or even just confident and fearless can become an obstacle to moving forward. Where do I begin? To me this subject is always a sensitive one. This topic along with other subjects was discussed in my church Pastorate (Bible group) a few days ago and yes we had a few people (women) ask majority of the single, dating questions. Surprise, Surprise. See the thing is, what does being a single woman actually mean? To me, being single means not married yet. Then you might ask, what about Dating? Dating means, being interested in someone who might potentially become your partner, that is to say you ‘like’ them; if not you move unto the next one (this can be very dangerous). But Biblically speaking, dating didn't exist.  Plain and simple . Therefore I go back to my first example: Single means ‘NOT’ married. Being single for me has had its lows & highs.
