Scars: By Rachel Obozua

Image
Everyone has had scars. A time back when you were little you fell over and hurt yourself days down the line the wound healed but left a scar. It was always the deeper more serious wounds that stayed for years, even though the event was when you were weeny you still look back on that scar and the memories haven't left the feeling of the pain and how it happened. Sometimes the memories behind those scars even bring us shame and hurt today. Childhood scars are not all that serious when we know it was caused by riding our bikes to fast, scrapping our legs on the pavements etc, we get over them soon enough and tell of our careless fall and even laugh at the memories even though at the time we cried. However, as we continue in life some scars are more serious than others. Some scars we would rather hide than it bring back memories of the pain of a traumatic experience, one we don't want to remember or share. These scars were perhaps made through abuse bullying or the phys...

When God When: Facing your storms & Seeing your Joy!

There are many times in life when we go through things. Some of these times feel worse off than others. We cry & at times let anger build up due to the disappointments, delays & defeats. But I truly believe that the time for overcoming, rejoicing, smiling again will be knocking at our doors very soon, if not today. Having the RIGHT attitude to endure, with the strength of God & the power to overcome makes everything you go through feel a little bit worth it. I do believe that everything happens for a reason, the explainable and unexplainable, especially when at times some reasons seem clouded. 'Those who sow with tears will reap with songs of joy' . Psalm 126:5 The verse above kept coming in remembrance to me a couple of times throughout November 2014. I felt it was God trying to reassure me that despite what we go through He is ever so present to be our Strength to carry on, our Defender when accused & our Helper when in need. To reass...

"What is going on, on your insides?"

Image
Isn't it funny how we can be so concerned about our outside appearance that we choose to forget about what's taking place on our insides? We wear the amazing shimmer or matte lipsticks, we see the beauty in the black or brown mascara which makes our eyes pop to become engaging. Our nails, done and painted, the perfume we wear captures each persons senses as they walk pass you. Each clothing item compliments the other and most of all your hair says it all. Beauty has spoken from the outside. But what is it saying on your inside? To the person across the street, you are confident, to the lady sitting next to you, she feels you are glamorous, to the guy living next door, you become sexy and to the child heading to school you become a role model. But to yourself you know your hiding behind a mask. Your broken, your heart has been thorn from left to right from family issues, bad relationships or just self condemnation. You know your just crying out for someone ...
