"What is going on, on your insides?"

Isn't it funny how we can be so concerned about our outside appearance that we choose to forget about what's taking place on our insides?

We wear the amazing shimmer or matte lipsticks, we see the beauty in the black or brown mascara which makes our eyes pop to become engaging. Our nails, done and painted, the perfume we wear captures each persons senses as they walk pass you. Each clothing item compliments the other and most of all your hair says it all. Beauty has spoken from the outside. But what is it saying on your inside?

To the person across the street, you are confident, to the lady sitting next to you, she feels you are glamorous, to the guy living next door, you become sexy and to the child heading to school you become a role model.
But to yourself you know your hiding behind a mask. Your broken, your heart has been thorn from left to right from family issues, bad relationships or just self condemnation.
You know your just crying out for someone to really see it, but you feel you need to be strong for others around you, especially because you don't want to be wrongly judge. So your guard is placed right up, you remain misleading to your outside beauty as you leave your true beauty within in pain and agony.

Does this sound like you?

At this point you may feel like an open book, you may also feel like saying: 'nope, nope, I am not going there right now with you Faith, I will be just fine'. But sorry to burst you bubble of denial sister, but you will NOT be just fine.
I think its about time we face up to the reality of ourselves in knowing that the image we portray on the outside is not as important as the image, inner identity and beauty we are building up on the inside
Lets take a quick look at the story of David's anointing to become King over Israel in: 1 Samuel 16: 1-13, God called Samuel to go and anoint a king over Israel to replace Saul (the previous king). Samuel went ready to do as God said but went looking towards an 'outward appearance', when He saw Jesse's son Eliab (bearing in mind there were 8 sons in total) this is what he said: "Surely the Lord's anointed is before him", however this is what the Lord said in response: "Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart."
Later on in this story you will come to find that Samuel had to go through all 7 sons and yet still did not find any of the sons suitable, until God confirmed to Him that David (the youngest & 8th son) who was out in the field with the sheep at the time was suitable (vs12).

Through this story, you can see how at times the outward appearance can be a great thing, but if the inside is too messed up, then in certain situations such as being made a king in David's case over a nation would pass you by and then people will believe you are not suitable or capable.
This can be the same as when you go for interviews. You can dress the part, but if you don't answer all question thrown at you correctly, or your passion cannot be expressed or seen from your heart, you can easily be removed from the employers potential candidates list.
You see, we cannot keep brushing off the pain or hurts we faced whilst continuing to let our insides be so contaminated. You can only wear a mask/clothing to cover up your broken insides as much as you can with your own natural outside beauty. But you mustn't forget that the longer you do this, sooner or later the mess from within will start to show on the outside.

Please don't get me wrong, I am not saying that every woman that walks around looking beautiful on the outside has issues on the inside, but I am saying that we need to pay more attention to what's going on internally whilst maintaining what we are portraying externally.

So let me ask you this:

1) What type of attitude do you have right now, are you welcoming, loving and caring? Or do you think your better than others, cast people away and anti social?

2) Through the hurts and pains you have faced in broken relationships etc, have you now forgiven yourself as well as the person/s who hurt you? Or are you still holding grudges and allowing anger to take root in you that now it controls your life?

3) Do you believe you truly are beautiful, is your confidence filled with the boldness that no matter who comes your way to tell you that you are not right or ugly, you can brush their negative comments away, hold your head up high and smile knowing your beautiful?

In whatever way you choose to answer these questions, it will be time for you to really think about who you really are and what is really going on, on your insides. Denial can become your enemy and hindrance towards progression and your internal healing, so don't let it take place inside of you. Facing up to whatever you are going through can become very challenging, but it doesn't mean you cannot do so and live your life afresh.

The Bibles promises us that '....Perfect Love casts out fear.' (1 John 4:18) so if you seek & accept the perfect LOVE of CHRIST which reaches out to you daily, to rescue, heal and restore, then all fear of defeating your hurt, mistakes, mistreats, guilt, pains will be dealt with bit by bit internally.

Wouldn't you want to walk in freedom? Wouldn't you want to feel complete internally? I know I do, so what about you?
Lets take the time out to not judge others easily from their outside appearance and take time to get to know others. See what their true characteristics/talents is all about and whether interested or not to pursue a friendship/relationship with. At least you can walk away saying and knowing that this person was real and possibly shinned true beauty from the inside out.

Ladies I am sure you would rather be seen for who you are rather than who you are not, right?

So lets go for it, lets work on our inside, defeat our hurts and pain and be determined to not let it control our future. Read books, pray, share, forgive and love again into being the best women you can be both inside and outside.

God is LOVE and He LOVES you dearly.

Keep Being Beautiful...

  2. Aww bless you Tiffanie. Thanks for taking the time out to read our blog and especially being opened.
It is great to see that you can see the issues and deal with them, most people can't, so good on you.
Remember, nothing is impossible if you believe. God will truly help you, so trust Him to do what you cannot do, internally & externally. If He can do it for me. I know He can do it for you too.

    You are LOVED.
