Tell me something good!

Image
There’s a scene in the film Me Before You , I hope this isn’t a spoiler for any of you, when Lou says to Will, “tell me something good, ” . Without going into too much detail, Lou is upset and struggling to come to terms with what will become of her life due to present circumstances pertaining to Will, but Lou looks to Will for a Word. She was looking for a WORD in her time of need (circumstances). This captivated me as it prompted me to ask that same question to God, “tell me something good.” It provoked the thought of What Word do I look to God for in circumstances? This made me think about my relationship with God and His promises to me throughout the Bible. When I feel or see nothing good due to present circumstances what WORD from God do I stand on? Can I recall them in times of need? Do I believe and treasure them at all times? Like Lou, when you’re going through a rough time What Word from God do you stand on? Do you even have a Word to stand on? This is re...

Again....

Image
AGAIN simply means ‘ another time, once more, returning to a previous position or condition ’ (Oxford Dictionary). What I have been personally learning and walking through in my Christian walk so far is the FACT that God wants every area of me to be ALIVE (living, not dead – Oxford Dictionary). He invites and wants ALL OF US; inside and out, to be AWAKE (not sleeping) – John 10:10. To be awake can take on many forms and can mean many different things; it’s individual to each of us. These could be our dreams, careers, relationships, hopes and desires for the future; etc, anything. I want to share a small testimony (story) which I hope will show you what ‘again ’ can look like for a person. For those who don ’t know me, I LOVE DANCING. All my life I have danced, danced and danced. At the ages of fourteen and fifteen, I did GCSE dance at secondary school but dance changed for me. A group of girls; what we would call ‘the mean girls, ’ would always knock everyone’s confidence. ...

"Which status are you: 'Wife or 'Desperate Wife'?"

Image
I think it is fair to say that each lady is either in or has been in both these categories, if not still in either one today. So let me explain what I mean by the two status: 'Wife' and 'Desperate Wife'. The 'Wife' (W) status : She is a lady that already has the mindset of a wife, she is not married as of yet, but is prepared to be. Everything is in order and she really knows how to take care of others, whilst not forgetting about pampering and taking care of herself.  She graces each day with a better perspective of knowing and believing each day is a going to be good and God's plans for her life is the best to come. She has PATIENCE and is content with where she is and where she is heading. Then you have the 'Desperate Wife' (DW) status:  No she is nowhere near the stereotypical TV sitcom 'Desperate Housewife'  but she is also a lady too, however the word 'desperate' says it all. Any man that shows her any attention...

'Pushed back against the Wall'

Image
The Storm is OVER, Can I enjoy my life now please? I bet many of you would love to be saying this right about now. But for some of you the reality is this: There comes a time in life when it seems like your back is pushed against the wall, you throw your hands up and say: ok, ok, enough now, no more . Everything has just been thrown at you and you think, please Lord, no more, I can't take it . It almost makes you feel like you are in a circus, assigned a new role: Lady Juggler - As each problem arises you try and deal with each one as much as you can, but then a next ball of problems or issue surfaces, if its not your job, its about your finances, if its not about your finances, its then about your relationships, family issues, health and so forth. To top it all off, someone throws you another ball of their own problems, to only confuse your flow of somewhat trying to endure your own pain. At this point you acknowledge you not only don't have the strengt...

"The shining star"

Image
As I laid in my bed with the curtains opened I looked up to see a star. It was smiling down on me with its glittering lights, winking saying hello. As I re-angled myself in my bed, I realised it started to disappear, where did my glittering friend just go? Moving back only to see it was still there. Then a thought came to mind….. Just as we see the star, so you see God ever present looking down and smiling on you. And even though you may turn away from Him or go into places that may seem so dark, He is still there. Meaning, God is everywhere even if you can't see Him. Oh what great joy to know & see God taking the time to teach us such a great lesson in the midst of creation. For when I looked up again the star was now gone. Lesson well learnt. Remember in the small or big things God is ever so present. It's just us who need to take the time out to look upon it and stand still to embrace all that He has to teach, express or just show us. And when we do. We...

"YES, You Do MATTER!"

Originally written on: 07/08/2012 These sayings/thoughts; they don't care, look at me, I don't feel pretty let alone beautiful, no-one would like me let alone ask me out. No one wants me. Does these words sound familiar? To some, it means a broken heart, to others it means transitioning and to the rest it means the past. Neither men nor situations or circumstances determine your worth but God! You might have had a long relationship, you may have been dating for years, nearly married only to see it all crash in your face. Does this mean your worth has been de-valued and all hope is lost? No! You might have fought with your parents, nearly all your life, taken words of abuse & emotionally feel drain. Does this de-value you? Of course not. God has redeemed you, He wants to restore you to be that women of integrity to know you are so valued more than you can ever imagine. Just because it didn't work out with your ex or in relationships with pa...
