Speak A New 2019

Image
Following on from the success of our 2018 SPEAK LIFE NOW event, I want to leave you with a final thought… what LIFE will you speak in 2019? If you haven’t already, have a read of the event’s reflection by our wonderful Rachel (it was great!) You can find this reflection on our news feed link below:  Reflection of our SLN - Fully loaded 3.11.18  After experiencing intimate and powerful times of worship, good fellowship and discussions about speaking life in ALL areas of our lives (mindset, lifestyle, decisions, etc,), let us prepare the ground from now and make any necessary changes. "Proverbs 18:21  (ESV) Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits." Let us walk into the new year with a renewing mindset, cleansed heart and a mouth that will only speak goodness over us and our lives. How about reflecting on God’s goodness and his thoughts towards you. See how spending time in his presence truly helps, ...

Think Life to Speak Life

Image
Most days are pretty mundane. You wake up, get ready, go to work/school/college/uni (etched), return home, and go to bed. Throw in your tender mix of socialising, outings, and various other activities, and we pretty much have the typical ‘human’ life.  However boring - apologies; mundane, human existence can be, we still have to think about how we speak. We always have to be conscious of the talking head between our lips. Can I pose this to you? For us to watch our lips, we also have to check our thoughts? What’s your mind saying? Unfortunately- or maybe thankfully, depending on you as a person, we have to think, filter and retain our thoughts. Our daily thought life is important.  If you are anything like me, thought life is the last thing you really want to think about. Standing as a judge, granting freedom or declaring prison sentences to your thoughts. It’s not always great, especially if you picture it like this, but our thoughts must be looked into. Half of t...

"Tell me: What's your label?"

Image
W.C. Fields states " It isn't what they call you, it's what you answer to " How many of us dislike the label people give us? It could be in a form of a nick name, an embarrassing moment or even just a mistake. It almost seems like the label aka name is stuck with you for the rest of your life, or is that really the case? According to W.C. Fields above quote, he is saying that even though people may label us whatever they choose too, we don't actually have to claim it. Its when we do claim these labels, it then becomes apart of us. Other labels which you might be familiar with are: Worthless, spoilt  unforgiven, dirty, disowned, failure, stupid, ugly or even one that was said to me before: Weak or emotional. These labels can either make us, damage us (self esteem & thoughts) or even break us. The question is, which one are you going to claim and which one are you going to ignore?  Better yet, is it fair to say that we should disregard all...

"Happy New Year (2013): The Year of New Beginnings"

Image
In the famous words of Michael Buble: " It's a new dawn, it's a new day, it's a new life for me and I'm feeling good ." What does 2013 hold for you? Could it be a new job, career path, relationship, friendships, healing or restoration? The fact is, we will never really know. It's life, we walk in it and we either choose to embrace it or ignore it. However on the other hand we can have the hope to believe something good will come out of this year and as I have already heard today: ' having a little bit of faith can change things '. So I guess, it's about time we increase our faith and start feeling good. We always hear questions being asked about, What the highs and lows of 2012 was? But for me, 2012 has now gone, so, therefore no need to really think about it any more, unless something significant happened (Marriage, Engagement, Birthday, Child's birth, Love Ones, Christmas etc) especially if you have to think of the lows ...

"Why settle for less when you can have God's best?"

Image
You may be a humble person to appreciate what you get even if it’s not how you hoped it to be and then just settle down knowing deep down inside, you could have got or done more. It's about time we took greater steps of hope in believing, even if you haven't got that thing or conquered that situation as you hoped to, the next time  YOU WILL . There are great things to achieve in this world that we live in. We just need to stop settling and start claiming... You may say, ‘well Faith I really did try all I could to keep this relationship going, I've given my all, but yet still, s/he doesn't show me know respect or love’… Uhh that means you are working too hard for someone’s affection which they don’t want to give you. I believe if in a relationship and you feel you have tried all you can to show someone how you really feel and they are not showing you back, even when you have spoken about it to them and they don’t acknowledge it. Then cl...

"Confidence/Self Confidence"

Image
Confidence   is generally described as a state of being certain either that a hypothesis or prediction is correct or that a chosen course of action is the best or most effective.   Self-confidence   is having  confidence in oneself . (From Wikipedia) Having confidence can seem like a great challenge to take on board, but it is great to see that having self-confidence enables you to achieve and accomplish the best results in life and in any situations you may face. I remember a last year let’s say August 2011; I wanted to go for a HR and Recruitment Administrator role. Fear tried to creep in and state that I will not be suitable, or the role is too complicated or hard for me to do. However I had to shut these thoughts down and seek the truth within myself to remember who I was including what my talents and abilities where. From this point self-confidence was invited and I said ‘Yes I can do it’ . I applied and was given the job in which I learnt so much...

"Beauty Through Song"

Image
So I've put together some of my favourite 'Beautiful Songs' , Remember if its not said in person, it can be expressed through song. Enjoy whilst you either take time to listen or read the meaningful lyrics. 1) You are so beautiful to me - Joe Cocker     Such simple words, with such a touching meaning. There is someone out there who feels like this about you. Some have this someone now, and some long for this type of guy who will cherish them and make them feel like they are meant all these simple words…. There is hope, so keep your beauty shining and I believe that someone will come along soon. 2)  Beautiful- Christina Aguilera I remember when this song first came out...truly amazing lyrics with a meaningful message. It really makes you think, and understand that some of us really have difficult times that we face especially with identity. But the hope is that we are all made in a unique way and we should embrace it, no matter wh...

"Quit feeling offended all the time"

Image
Now when you first saw this title, what was your first reaction… was you already offended? See, the thing is, sometimes we can be quick to jump down someone’s throat when either they are trying to help, encourage or change our perspective for the better. Some questions you might want to ask yourself when you get to this point are: Why do I feel this way? How do I feel about the person who has corrected me or is trying to comfort me? What has happened to me prior to this encounter? And finally, I’m I really right in acting this way? Those who can challenge themselves with these questions above are right on their way to breaking through the barriers of always being offended at every word, sentence, situation or action being made towards them. As we all know life has its up and downs. Some people intentionally do things to get on our nerves, make us feel worthless; dampen our spirit from feeling great to feeling low. And yes, it gets to that point when you do become de...
