Finally I See

There’s a scene in the film Me Before You , I hope this isn’t a spoiler for any of you, when Lou says to Will, “tell me something good, ” . Without going into too much detail, Lou is upset and struggling to come to terms with what will become of her life due to present circumstances pertaining to Will, but Lou looks to Will for a Word. She was looking for a WORD in her time of need (circumstances). This captivated me as it prompted me to ask that same question to God, “tell me something good.” It provoked the thought of What Word do I look to God for in circumstances? This made me think about my relationship with God and His promises to me throughout the Bible. When I feel or see nothing good due to present circumstances what WORD from God do I stand on? There are many times in life when we go through things. Some of these times feel worse off than others. We cry & at times let anger build up due to the disappointments, delays & defeats. But I truly believe that the time for overcoming, rejoicing, smiling again will be knocking at our doors very soon, if not today. Having the RIGHT attitude to endure, with the strength of God & the power to overcome makes everything you go through feel a little bit worth it. I do believe that everything happens for a reason, the explainable and unexplainable, especially when at times some reasons seem clouded. 'Those who sow with tears will reap with songs of joy' . Psalm 126:5 The verse above kept coming in remembrance to me a couple of times throughout November 2014. As we come to a close for this month & year of 2013 what type of memories does it hold for you? Do you have more low moments than high ones? Every setback, every obstacle, every pain, lost of even feared actions at times, does not defeat you, if you learn to see them for what they are and walk forward in victory of conquering it. Philippians 2:14 'Do all things without complaining or arguing...' Isn't it funny how we can step out of bed, and instantly complain before our day even begins. Or are you the one that has an amazing day indoors, but until you step outdoors, walk into your work building, prepare lunch, dinner etc you open your mouth and then the complaining begins? I think we  can   all agree with the fact that we shouldn't be complaining amount many things that we tend to complain about these days. I Trust You . Such powerful words to exchange, to let someone know that no matter what happens, what is said, what is done, you trust them. How many times has these powerful words been abused, taken for granted or felt like they have been trampled on? I've had my share of people breaking my trust a few times. I was not impressed at all. But at the end of the day I had to learn either to walk away from that person or forgive that person especially if they genuinely didn't mean to misuse my trust. Which one do you choose? The famous saying: ' It takes years to build up trust and only seconds to destroy it.' I've always said to actually trust someone is to believe in them, believe in your relationship with each other knowing that they will not do anything intentionally to hurt you.  But the reality about it all, is that we are all just humans , we fail at times and we are not God! After hearing some unpleasant news from my mum last night. My first reaction was Godddd, really I just don't get it. We serve you, try to walk faithful with you & this happens? Now for those who knows a little bit about my family history, knows we had a lot shake my family from my parents health, lack of jobs, finances issues etc...But the only thing we knew how to do is cling unto God. So when you hear me mention Him a lot I express my true relationship with Him, this isn't 'religion' speaking but saved by GRACE speaking. So I woke up this morning had one of those conversations with God, where I just talked, spoke His promises & just prayed...my house at this moment felt so gloom the dim lights didn't help... But in the mist of this battle, in the mist of this lady almost giving up, feeling she'd had enough...I step out my front door & was welcome with a bright day , a fresh smile from Heaven as the clouds opened up....what was this? When you think of the word ‘Broken’, what comes to mind? Is it fair to say, something which was whole, like a full cup, glass, vase, smashing and braking into pieces? Or maybe we can see it, as a car fully running and working and then it just stops… broken? Or let’s talk about feelings, attitudes, life… Loving someone, it then  doesn't  work out…. You’re left with a ‘broken’ heart? See the thing is, the word broken can be seen in many ways, but it always has two similarities. It’s mostly not ever seen as something good, actually bad, sometimes confused and alone. But the second similarity is that there is hope in knowing that everything broken has its time to be repaired. This can also be seen with our individual beauty.
